Founder Story 11|How I Work: Approach and Boundaries
Clear objectives, appropriate autonomy and transparent communication create room for independent judgement and shared responsibility.

Effective cooperation depends on professional expertise and on how people communicate, make decisions and take responsibility.
Over the years, I have developed a clear approach: agree on objectives and boundaries, move work forward independently within that scope and keep partners informed and involved in the decisions that require their participation.
Establishing a Shared Foundation
At the outset, I want a common understanding of objectives, scope, decision-making authority and expected outcomes. We should also agree on communication frequency, key milestones and matters that need prompt attention.
These arrangements reduce repeated confirmation and leave more time to solve problems. Regular communication should support decisions and action, helping both sides understand progress, difficulties and what is needed next.
Matching Autonomy with Responsibility
My contribution includes analysing problems, offering recommendations and exercising judgement within agreed authority. That requires basic trust and appropriate room to act.
We should also be clear about which matters I can advance independently, which require a joint decision and which changes call for a review of scope or arrangements.
I take responsibility for my judgements and agreed work, and I value timely communication about risks and limitations. Clear boundaries help both sides understand their obligations and where cooperation is required.
Being Open to Facts and Direct About Problems
I welcome different views and adjust my judgement when new information warrants it. When disagreements arise, I prefer to clarify the issue, understand the reasoning on each side and look for a workable solution.
Some conversations are difficult. Addressing them early is usually more helpful than leaving the problem unresolved and unclear. I want communication to be direct while remaining respectful of everyone involved.
Staying Clear Under Pressure
Where risks are high, responsibilities overlap or information is incomplete, I first organise the facts, priorities and sequence of decisions before coordinating action.
This helps me maintain direction under pressure and makes it easier for everyone to see what needs immediate attention and what still requires confirmation.
I work well with partners who value professional judgement, communicate openly and accept their responsibilities. Compatibility in working practices deserves attention at the beginning. A shared understanding makes it easier to move forward with confidence.
